Doctoral Dissertation Grants – International Research Foundation for English Language Education
TIRF – The International Research Foundation for English Language Education – is pleased to announce its 2025 Doctoral Dissertation Grants (DDG) competition. Grants of up to US $5,000 will be made to successful applicants investigating a range of topics in English language education. The application deadline is Wednesday, May 14, 2025.
There are three different types of DDGs offered from TIRF and its partners this year. Once again, we will be offering the TIRF-British Council DDG and the TIRF-Cambridge DDG (sponsored by Cambridge English, which is part of Cambridge University Press & Assessment). However, new this year is the TIRF-Duolingo DDG. British Council funding is aimed at promoting research to better meet the needs of language education in under-resourced nations; Cambridge funding will primarily be used to support research in language assessment; and Duolingo funding will be used to assist researchers in EFL contexts. Also, we would like to recognize the continued support of TOEFL® of the DDG program. Please use the following link to learn more.: https://tirfonline.org/doctoral-dissertation-grants
